How to make Air Fryer Onion Rings

To make Air fryer Onion Rings you will need the following:


  • 1 large onion, sliced into rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • Cooking spray


  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In another shallow bowl, beat the eggs.
  4. Place the panko breadcrumbs in a third shallow bowl.
  5. Take each onion ring and coat it in the flour mixture, then dip it in the beaten egg, and finally coat it in the panko breadcrumbs. Press the breadcrumbs onto the onion ring to ensure they stick.
  6. Repeat the coating process with all the onion rings.
  7. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  8. Arrange the onion rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  9. Spray the top of the onion rings with cooking spray.
  10. Air fry the onion rings for 8-10 minutes, flipping them over halfway through cooking, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  11. Serve the air fryer onion rings hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
